To take this topic a bit further.

A tip from this old ADC trapper.

When I run into digger fox / coyotes in cattle or sheep country I know what to do right away. We all run into this situation from time to time for what ever the reason. I carry or find a couple thoroughly dried cow patties. I use this method East and West by the way.

I shred thru my sifter enough cow patty material to thoroughly cover my bedded trap and surrounding area out about 3 feet or so. Make that whole area look and smell the same.

I have just covered the trap bed proper area also with good results, but prefer to do a larger broadcast area to be most effective in my mind. Nothing short circuits a predators nose better then dried feces from another animal. Curiosity and their nature is working in your favor.
