Nancy, Good Afternoon...Used to use it all the time for work, great results, get the Receipt returnable option so when they sign for the item USPS also sends you a copy of the receipt....Mark

Just make sure there’s no way they can default to their “perishable mode” and not pay you if it’s lost or damaged. If it’s important Id see what comparable services FedEx or UPS would offer you before I’d trust the Post Office but they have burned me before and took no responsibility for it.
They did take my money no problem. LOL

I used registered mail to ship 2 rifles a couple years ago to a gentleman in one of the western states. He was very confused why I would do that.
The package made it to a post office about 40-50 miles from final delivery and then nothing. After a week, I contacted my local post office as registered mail has a signed chain of custody and has to be kept under lock and key. Seemed the packages had went missing.
Long story short, someone had contacts in the post office and they knew what the packages contained and it was diverted. They finally got to the bottom of it. Don’t know all the details from there just that I had to provide some communication I had with buyer and a sworn statement.

When I was in the military, albeit a LOOOOOG time ago, it was acceptable to send classified material by registered mail, so it was very secure back when. (1968)

I used it quite a bit when I was in the landlord business, mostly for legal eviction notices. USPS will tell you when delivery has been attempted and when the item was received/signed for by the addressee.
The only problem I had was tenants not signing/receiving. Nothing you can do about that.
Eh...wot?
