I have a 2008 - 450 Yamaha Kodiak and I`m considering buying Camso Tracks for it.

Based on what I have read, they are made for smaller ATVs.

Buying a sled is basically a waste of money since we don`t have the snow accumulation we had years ago. I am seriously looking at making a purchase but before I do, I would like to get some feedback from users.

It will be used primarily for trapping and ice fishing.

Thanks

I have not spent a lot of time on tracks, but I don't care for them. You are a snowman 100 yards out. I would rather have a sled. They also work a ATV a lot harder then tires.

I have used tracks on my ATV since 2010. First on a Yamaha Grizzly 550 and now 2020 Kodiak 700 (I think it is).
I've been stuck twice. 1st time going about 5 mph and got high entered where a deer had lunged ahead and had packed down the snow so I got high centered on skid plate. there was about 40+ inches of snow. I just hooked winch on tree and pulled myself about 5 feet and good to go. 2nd time I was behind my sons house going down a hill with about 5 feet of untracked snow and had to slow down because I knew where some tree stumps were at. Both times it was untracked snow in March with lots of snow.
They do blow lots of snow but I wear snow bibs and jacket and Beaver hat so it's not too bad and if there is already a trail it's way less, plus the slower you go the less blowing snow
I use mine to drive 1 mile to my cabin and then for bobcat trapping within a couple miles of my cabin with around 2 feet of snow and for hauling firewood and chores.
The tracks are geared down for specific ATVs so speed is about 2/3 of speedo reading and fuel consumption increases accordingly.
Power steering is best. The power steering on my Yamahas are terribly.
I wouldn't want anything less than a 500cc engine.
It takes me about 4 hrs to swap out tires to tracks because of everything involved and I'm 78
Long trips a snowmobile is way better but I'm constantly breaking trail in the woods and would be stuck all the time on a snowmobile because I can drive 3-4 mph and don't get stuck

Been stuck more times than I would like to remember. Never tried a tracked ATV or UTV. Bought a Ski-doo Tunda long track 600 four stroke motor and with reverse. Never drove through snow four feet deep and not worried about getting stuck. I don't go fast! like looking and stoping. Step off and sink to my upper thigh. Have been smiling every time I drive that snow machine.
