I think most anyone that hunts generally has strong views on conservation. Just aint right in my opinion to tell someone "thats cheating be a man!" Or "should have gave that deer another year!" We are all in this together. Sure i disagree with alot of stuff, but i wont tell someone that its not hunting.

For the love of all things archery and hunting. It’s a crossbow. Stop with the cross-gun nonsense.

It is still a limited range method of take. 40 yards or so.

And don’t come at me with the… it can shoot farther nonsense.

I can shoot farther than most with a dang longbow, recurve and compound bow.

A modern compound bow is the same thing as a crossbow. It’s just held vertically. A crossbow just has assistance with holding the string.

Have a good one, get one and keep hunting. Or let your stupid pride get in the way for absolutely no reason at all and stop hunting. Just be sure to send me the pin locations to your hunting spots.

Lighten up Francis. You take words on a screen much to serious.

I took it as sarcasm but that’s just me.

I waited 26 years to draw an elk tag in the middle of getting full use of my shoulder back one was at 50% not able to raise my left elbow above my shoulder. Tried to pull my Mathew’s back it was like being shot with an arrow in the elbow and shoulder. Holding up the crossbow to shoot it was a limited time move it takes over 3 years to get somewhat back to normal. Everything from the shoulder level down no problem above the shoulder was a no go.

I would have loved to use the compound but I’m thankful I was able to fill that tag not like I have 26 years to get another tag. LOL

I have a Barnett Whitetail I compare carrying it in the woods to carrying an accordion around with me they don’t carry well and I walk everywhere.

Had to switch this past fall for what I hope is temporary. Been bowhunting since I was 15 and this past fall at 61 my degenerative shoulder won the battle. I’ve been swimming 3 times a week hoping to be able to draw at least 50 pounds by fall.

I still call it a cross gun 🤣 got my niece in the woods when she could not practice with her compound due to a broken collar bone. In my eyes its a little easier than a compound, but as ive said before if its legal, use it!

I knew long ago that I didn’t need to shoot a 70 lb bow to kill an elk, much less a whitetail. So for all the young guys that think they need to be macho and shoot 70 lb bows or more, if the shoulder holds out into your 60’s, good for you. If it doesn’t, I’m just fresh out of sympathy. I’m past 70 now and still shoot a compound with 60 lb limbs. Hope I never have to resort to a crossgun.

Well this turned into another one of those post. Remember the who hates crossbows post a couple months ago? Had to be up there with one of the dumbest post yet. This one has turned into a hold my beer comparison.

Why do people who don't hunt with a crossbow care if other people do? Ok now please tell everyone where the person who hunts with a crossbow touched you. Was it on the the special place your mommy told you about?? No then don't worry if someone hunts with a crossbow. End of discussion.

I switched at age 78 but still can use a bow with lower power for shooting carp.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
