Stack a bunch of bales around and on the well, and leave the attic door open.

So your outlet at the well is above grade? If so build a little structure over it, use an electric heater to keep it warm. Here we call them well house heaters or milk house heaters. Doesnt take much, even less in your part of the world. Turn it on when you need it.


The attic? Blow in some more insulation. Helps with cooling as well

I heat with propane, According to my electric bill it uses about the same amount of electricity to heat my house at 25 below as it does to try and keep it cool at 90 95.

… I got a well 100 yards from the house… and pipes run through the attic under a tin roof … but it’s indoor plumbing I guess

… a well house wouldn’t do crap… and the heater wouldn’t work when the powers out due to ice buildup on the lines that happens around here
