This is big can of worms.
Taxes for actaul services provided are so different from taxes for programs. Taxes for services like roads and public infrastructure are more like user fees. Yet mixed in and blurred by programs and administrative costs. So to single out a certain tax is almost impossible.
One that does chap me on my property Taxes. Is the part that goes to the state tec college. Not a huge amount but still on my property Taxes. I think businesses that hire those tec school kids should pay for those school. I shouldn't have to pay for people they used to hire as apprentices and train them selves.

Then you got subsidies and tax exemptions and on and on. Everyone screaming fair share. Right. Like that ever going to happen.

Get rid of property tax, the way property assessment is done it is actually an annual tax on unrealized capital gains . Fund county and local municipalities through user tax such as sales tax. Everyone then has skin in the game and it would force municipalities to reduce redundancies such as every town and county highway department to have equipment they use on rare occasions. Have shared resources. It will force municipalities to cut waste and fraud.

As it is now you do not own your property, you are renting from towns and counties with a high down payment. As property taxes continue to increase the American dream of home ownership is going to be a thing of the past for future generations if not already.

Any government subsidized daycare, ridiculous road projects that are simply wish-lists or designed to give road workers something to do, studies and more studies. So many STUDIES, that don't have funding after the studies to implement the work that was studied!

Just doing what I want now.

While I clearly agree 100%, neither Republicans nor Democrats will ever get rid of welfare. Large chunks of their voters are hooked on it.

Same goes for fraud.

Take away the fraud and you would see some huge tax cuts but politicians become millionaires by dipping their mitts in the pie its seems to be a perk of the job.

Get rid of everything other than the military, police and fire. Everything else is a run extremely inefficiently and could be done better by individuals and private companies.

^ I have harped on this for years.

My main beef....veterans. They should never have to pay tax on anything. Land, homes, food, medical, including dental, services , meds, vechiles, insurance...

Of all the waste and fraud of Americans tax dollars, there would be more than enough in the support of appreciation to our vets , being top priority. NO vet should ever be homeless, or donation organizations needed ( some are wonderful , of course ) , to provide for them what should be a given . The best of everything. They've already paid ...some still paying with their health.

Other than that, a slew of others are already mentioned above.

Thanks for picking me as your winner. I'm pretty sure I don't want or need all that wealth transfer. Good Lord!

I didnt "pick you " specifically for anything, except your thought on school tax. That tax takes up a good 70% of the pie for taxes.

That's a "winner" if ever taxes go away grin

Not at all sure what you mean by "wealth transfer". If you mean you're a vet, then fine. I meant all vets. Not just you.

I feel the way I feel and I said what I said. GOOD LORD !!

I have no problem with my tax dollars going to support vets....even disgruntled ones like you Dirt. smile

I've posted this on here before and really got reamed out over it too, but a big one for me is school breakfasts and lunches. Feed your own dang kids!
