Hi folks. Anyone out there familiar with this model ?
LEM MaxVac 500 Vacuum Sealer
$400 new, might get a slightly used one much cheaper.

Ah, well ... I'd like to. Any reason I shouldn't ?

I’ve had good luck with just a cheap one. This is the one I use and I think I paid like $40. I guess it depends on how much you use it…

We had a new one that failed. Couldn't draw the air out of a bag. Customer service and their call back system was worthless. Turned into weeks of calls to them and never got a live person. Buddy took it back to the store where he bought it ( I think Sportsmen Warehouse) and explained the situation to a store manager. The store exchanged it for him and the replacement worked fine. My first hand experience with their customer service is they are worthless.

I've had VacMaster (ARY) for about 20 years. We do a few elk, deer, antelope a year plus all the day to day stuff with my two VM350's and never had a major problem. Couple times I've had questions, always a live person when I called them

I’ve melted down 3-4 Walmart sealers.. bought a big nice stainless cabelas one 2 years ago.. it works great.. but it doesn’t seem to have the suction that the elcheapos had… honestly, it may not have to suck the pack completely down flat as a pancake to work properly.. we’re eating some 2-3 year old deer that got hidden under a bag of seed corn.. and it’s perfect.. the reason I went with cabelas , after exhausting internet research.. it appeared they would last a minimum of 10 years.. probably all made by the same little Chinese kids..

I would get a chamber vac I've had a vevor for over 3 years and I use it hard. We make 80lbs of raw dog food a month and it all gets vacuum sealed. I did 100 ribeye steaks at one time in december when I bought 4 rib roast and a whole new york when they were on sale for 6.99. The bags are cheap in the summer I seal up water and freeze for my ice chest the thing will actually pay for itself. The bags are cheaper than sealer bags.

I’ll second the chamber sealer. I wish I had ditched vac sealers years before I did.

All good info, THANKS !
Most of what I am finding is similar .... go with a chamber.
The least amount of fluid will mess up the other type.

Learned a lot today.
THANKS again,
smile

Chamber sealer is definitely worth the cost if you use it a lot. Bags are 8-10 cents a piece. we use it for everything from meat to left over soups and chili.

Does it require a special bag? Can it do two bags at a time? Is it 110V or 220V?

I have a few LEM products and the quality is excellent.

I have this vevor chamber vac. https://www.amazon.com/VEVOR-Chamber-DZ-260C-Packaging-Commercial/dp/B08ZDJTCC4

Got it last fall. So far we are very pleased with it. Its heavy but it works well. It uses the smooth (cheap) bags. I got a 1,000 bags 6x10 for $40 (4 cents each). On the smaller bags we can put 2 in it side by side. You can vacuum seal liquids in it easily.

Its configurable (vacuum time, seal time, delay before release). So far we're just using the default settings and haven't had a seal break yet.

110V, 14" wide sealer, 3 widths of bag material available. Assume it would work with other bags ... dunno.
Thanks smile

Thanks for the report, Joe.
Much appreciated. cool
I like the smaller size. And the versatility regarding sealing of different product types.
