This is big can of worms. Taxes for actaul services provided are so different from taxes for programs. Taxes for services like roads and public infrastructure are more like user fees. Yet mixed in and blurred by programs and administrative costs. So to single out a certain tax is almost impossible. One that does chap me on my property Taxes. Is the part that goes to the state tec college. Not a huge amount but still on my property Taxes. I think businesses that hire those tec school kids should pay for those school. I shouldn't have to pay for people they used to hire as apprentices and train them selves.
Then you got subsidies and tax exemptions and on and on. Everyone screaming fair share. Right. Like that ever going to happen.

Any government subsidized daycare, ridiculous road projects that are simply wish-lists or designed to give road workers something to do, studies and more studies. So many STUDIES, that don't have funding after the studies to implement the work that was studied!
Just doing what I want now.

Get rid of all welfare.....that includes for individuals, farmers, and corporations. Everyone should stand on their own two feet, whether you're a person, a corn farmer, or an oil company. While I clearly agree 100%, neither Republicans nor Democrats will ever get rid of welfare. Large chunks of their voters are hooked on it. Same goes for fraud.

Take away the fraud and you would see some huge tax cuts but politicians become millionaires by dipping their mitts in the pie its seems to be a perk of the job.

You could almost eliminate your property taxes, if you eliminated the service of educating children. ^ I have harped on this for years. My main beef....veterans. They should never have to pay tax on anything. Land, homes, food, medical, including dental, services , meds, vechiles, insurance... Of all the waste and fraud of Americans tax dollars, there would be more than enough in the support of appreciation to our vets , being top priority. NO vet should ever be homeless, or donation organizations needed ( some are wonderful , of course ) , to provide for them what should be a given . The best of everything. They've already paid ...some still paying with their health. Other than that, a slew of others are already mentioned above.

I'm pretty sure I don't want or need all that wealth transfer. Good Lord!

I have no problem with my tax dollars going to support vets....even disgruntled ones like you Dirt. I've posted this on here before and really got reamed out over it too, but a big one for me is school breakfasts and lunches. Feed your own dang kids!

You could almost eliminate your property taxes, if you eliminated the service of educating children. Sounds like a deal to me. With could do without goverment run education centers.

Well if there is one thing I don't like to encourage, it is government dependency. Especially, if it is me.

It can be fixed easily.
If you are on welfare of any kind, your voting rights are suspended. This would completely change who politicians catered to since all they want is your vote. The politicians would then have to actually listen to the tax payer rather than the tax consumer.
But when you are able to take from the tax payer and give free cake to the tax consumer, as long as they will vote the way they want, and. we allow it, it will always be a skewed system. If we take away the politicians ability to buy votes with my money, the system will change dramatically.
But then the cry baby pseudo constitutionalists would cry about their rights and the politicians would come to their rescue......as long as they vote for them.
Rather evil system if you ask me.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

If they cut what needed to be cut most wouldn't stand for it even the conservatives

I cannot even get these women to cut me off before I partake. I could probably give them at least 2 trillion reasons just this year.

You are no longer taxed for the services you should be receiving you are taxed to get politicians elected and pet projects again to get them elected. Today taxes are being collected for made up new non existent tax reasons. As long as they can get away with it they will keep doing it.
A first term Governor works for the State mostly in the first term to gain support for the next election after that it’s all about the legacy at any cost to protect that image.
