That looks really good. Didn't know you were a fly fisherwoman.

I don't tie fly's per say but tie a bunch of fur and feathers on different sized jig heads that we catch everything on. It's a fun hobby during the winter time. Your's looks real nice.

Thanks all! I’m not a fly fisherwoman but I got Chuckie a fly rod two years ago for an anniversary present. These flies are gonna be for him mostly! I can’t say I wouldn’t like to try it tho.

Yes today was a great excuse to sit and try my hand at it!

I think Wolfie it’s called an Adam’s dry fly??
Wrestlecoach provided a lot of the extras for me and a wee little cost for the used vise. He really HOOKED me up!

I got the light at Harbor freight for like 35 bucks. There was one at hobby lobby but it got very poor reviews.
There is no way I could attempt this without that magnifying light. It’s pretty intricate work.
I got a satchel of tools from amazon and some thread and dubbing at sportsman’s warehouse. I can see how this could be a money pit

True story,,, years ago we had a yellow house cat. One day he was laying on the window sill watching some kinda little song birds in the bushes outside the window,,, so I went to door, opened it quiet like and let him out and told him to go get me one. About 5 minutes later he was scratching at the window with one in his mouth. lol You could give it a try with your cat, worthless songbirds, could be the source of some fly tying feathers for free.

Jordy thinks it’s a good idea!
But Torii would probably out hunt him and she only has four teeth left. Ya know what they say about the female of the species…..deadlier than the Male

Looks good. YouTube is your friend for tying. Lots of techniques to learn. Be careful though, it’s addicting. Enjoy

I used the fur off my daughters gray cat. I needed gray fur so I got out some scissors and cut a bunch off. My daughter was about 10.
She saw a chunk of hair missing so she told her mother her cat needed to go see the vet. I suggested we keep an eye on him. See if his appetite or behavior changes.
She did. I told her the truth after she moved out.
