I know they eat raccoons. Caught a coon in a 220 fisher box set, snow was on, and a fisher came and ate it out of the trap.

I know coyotes are death on feral cats, and we all know how good house cat is as bait for them

Why do you suspect fisher? ... as opposed to fox, bobcat, even possum, etc... ?

Well, a few years ago I got a call from a farmer down the road from me that knew I trapped. It was early winter and he had been gone a few days and when he came back he found parts of 7 dead cats around the place. I investigated and found tracks of a big bobcat. I ended up snaring him on a trail behind barn going into the swamp. I never knew bobcats would take domestic cats like that but now I know.

To answer ADC's question. I lived here for over 30 years and never saw or heard of anyone else seeing a bobcat, my wife feeds these cats and over the years we have noticed that coon and opossums sometimes help the cats eat their food. There are fox and even coyotes in the neighborhood and they are a possible suspect. We had two cats that something caught and chewed on the hind leg, one cat survived and is living with a new owner, the other cat was found dead inside the barn on the upper floor. Its face was eaten. I do not think a fox or a coyote would come in the barn and climb the stairs to the second story. Fishers have been seen in the area. Cage traps have been set and a camera is going to be set up today. I suppose it could be a coon, but a coon has made its home in the barn for 5 or 6 years and we never had cats missing until recently.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

One evening about 10 years ago I heard animals noise right outside my house. I sounded like two cats fighting, we don’t have a cat. I turned on my outside light and I could see two cats fighting, one on top of the other only about 3 feet from my walkout basement. I grabbed my trustee 22 and snuck around the house. I was about 30 feet away from the animals and they didn’t know I was there. I had turned the light off before going outside. When I reached the corner of the basement, I shot the animal on top. I’ll just say, it was no cat. I walked up to the cat that was getting its butt kicked and it was a pretty poor shape. So I dispatched it, it was a big heavy feral Tom cat.

Great horned owls will kill skunks. So, I would guess they might kill cats as well.
