Got some beaver need trapping here. They have feed piles. Could get them under the ice. Dont feel like chopping holes. Have more than once stepped on thin ice doing that. When it melts it will be easier to catch them where they are coming out to feed. Color me lazy. Cats leave sign in this snow cover.

I remember the winter of 80-81, was 18 in Miami and 40 in western Alaska. No snow and a foot of slush on top of a foot of ice on all the beaver ponds.

Peeler and I were canoe trapping a river in ‘79 I believe, froze solid and beaver starved to death.

Beaver don't build a feed pile in the summer. In Alabama it is always summer. So Beaver are the same everywhere.

Supposed to be 18° here in the morning with a 5° wind chill.

Best trapping weather we've had here in a while. No green bellies on the cats and otters for the next couple days.

But, had to put the windshield back on the Honda....lol

Late 70's and early 80's were worst winters of my lifetime. It was brutal back then.

That's awful cold that far south swamp daddy! Wind be below zero up here in the morning. 40 mph gust are nice too!

'Jtrapper, Slim was down in yr area giving instructions and trapping. Dont think he liked the weather but weathered it out and left going back up North. Just think you wont have to stake your bvr traps ( not that you ever forgot to stake a trap...LOL} Maybe you will get to frost scrape your bvrs .

Supposed to be 61 here today; 30 miles out of Seattle.
BTW, a bit of trivia, for it's size, there are no other cities in the USA (lower 48) that are farther north than Seattle.

I need to mow my lawn; not joking.

17 and snowing pretty good in NC this morning. High today 20 according to the guessers. 34 was the high for this past week with lows in the teens so the inch of ice we got last week is mostly still here under the new snow.
