The wife doesn't sew. When the girls were in the scout's dad sewed on their merit badges.

My wife is an avid quilter and will occasionally mend something for me.

Muskrat,
Is her long Arm computerized or free motioned? My wife talks about a long Arm but not computerized (too much money). Then she says she doesn't have enough room. My plan is to get her one that is computerized in the near future so she can do all her own long arming and also some for others.

Computerized. She can free motion, but says she's not confident enough to make it look as good as she'd like it.

It's a big room, and yes, you need the room.

And they ain't cheap. But like I said, she got lucky finding this used one on FB MP. That's a good plan if you can swing it.

I hear you on the price but she spends hundreds on long arming every year.
She sent me a pick of a (she shed) sewing building this morning. I think she is coming around to the idea of having one.

Not only does she sew but weaves the fabric she sews

Diane sews, but she knits, spins and weaves a lot more. She has a lot of looms, from small inkle looms to enormous floor looms and a whole lot of spinning wheels, from wheels she made, modern wheels and huge, antique, great wheels.

I already took good care of those hats knowing , they fit , they were warm , they probably have 30 dollars in wool in them , and now I got no one to make any more. so I make darn sure to take care of them and not leave them any where.

a little repair sewing I can do , a patch , button.

my youngest sews if I need something beyond that.

all the kids can sew a little but K did a lot of it.

my mom and aunt sew as well , they help finish up some of the quilts my wife had going for the kids

If ya ever need a new knit hat, I am married to a compulsive knitter.

thanks , might even be able to trade some yarn , I am not even sure how many totes of yarn there are more than 3

yeah we had a deal we had a hobby budget money just came out as our checks went in and hit our hobby accounts.

don't question the others spending as long as it is in pulling from the hobby account.

of course this came about after she left me at the army navy in Baraboo one time and returned after not answering her phone for 90 minutes cause she left it in the car while she went into the sewing shop.
I was done in the Army navy in about 30 minutes and spent an hour sitting on the street calling and wondering where she had gone , she returned with a new sewing machine , it was 50% off because it had been a demo at quilt expo , it was only 2200 dollars it had been 4500 at quilt expo.

and thus the hobby budget was born.

A friend of mine asked how I got guns , his wife was like do you really need that , I said , well she run off and bought a $2200 sewing machine once I did a really good job of not yelling and suggested we should just have hobby budgets and keep to what we had in our account unless we worked it out between us before buying anything.

and there you go money out of every pay check set aside to enjoy how ever you like and neither gets mad

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
