So I bought this old Jansport backpack at auction for $9.

I mainly wanted the external frame to make a DIY trapping basket.

I removed the pack itself. The bottom of the frame curves out away from the lower body and the top of the frame has that bar that sticks out away from the body.

Any suggestions? Anyone made on like this they could share picks of? I guess my first though was to try and attach a 13 gal trash can to the frame somehow.

I use something similar on my cat line right now which is hike -in on a 2 mile loop. The backpack is my regular trappers bag with hammer, sifter, tools, pan covers, traps, etc. I bungee cord it to the frame and can bungee a couple critters between the pack and frame to pack out. I thought about the trash can thing but I hate stuff knocking around making noise when hiking. You could drill holes in a trash can and use heavy duty zip ties to attach to the frame if you wanted to go that route.
