To add to my last post,, There's a number of states that do not have property taxes. how do they do it?? Where we used to live they built a new high school. Believe it or not, they even had a big room with putting greens in it for the golf team. Ya, take my taxes and spend it on schools. OK ,, I'm done...

New school near here put in charging stations for kids cellphones. The tax on some good irrigated land is over $100 per acre.

My taxes went up 30% last year and about 40% goes to the school system. Property taxes are the worst of all taxes.

You can never own your land or home truly as long as ther are property taxes.

Declare your place the church of something or other....no more property taxes!

I'm curious what fraud problems does Ohio have? I guess if they do it can't be worse than any other state. And if they do whats that have to do with thread?

Alaska has no property tax, nor does Oregon. Those are left to the county or borough.

I think that's the way most states work AV. Here in PA there are no "state" property taxes, they are levied by the school district, the county, your local municipality, etc.

To all the naysayers and the tax loving liberals, I still say it's worth trying to get property taxes repealed. They are wrong. Free people shouldn't have to pay to keep their homes.
