First thing I do is stain the pack so it doesn't stand out like a white light in the field. Good point. Think I might do that.

I like the idea. Looks good. I’d need pouches without the net-type material though. Too much stuff would grab on it going through the brush.
I also like the idea of staining the pack. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen one intentionally stained though. Do any of you using pack baskets out of natural materials stain or paint them?

First thing I do is stain the pack so it doesn't stand out like a white light in the field. I actually tie a couple bright colored bandanas ti mine. Our deer gun season runs along with trapping. A brown or tan basket bobbing around on your back is not a good idea here. I don't know about NC.

I put quite a few coats of thinned out linseed oil on my new pack to start with. It's then good for years if not decades
