One thing I've learned is if you don't utilize, fence and post your land....Others will use it for you.
That, and people are nuts, Lol.

That, and people are nuts, Lol. That's the thing. It is fully utilized and posted. We hunt the woods, cut firewood there, use the cabin for small gatherings and such, the feild is farmed and we have a lease with the windmill company as some of their grounding system is on our property line. This farm is large and are used to being able to throw their weight around. They own the feild on the lower side (which they bought from my wifes family when they sold the farm) and a relative of theirs (who is a retired game warden) owns the other field that they work. We have had other problems with them in the past. Most notably they told my brother in law that he was not allowed to hunt our property during gun season because they leased out the hunting rights on most of their other properties and they want this area to themselves during gun season. I gave him a piece of my mind over that. They bullied my brother in law into moving his stand to a different part of the property then they built a permanent elevated shooting house on the property line overlooking our trail into the cabin. It is a deer superhighway.

I would be sure someone was in them just to be sure they were not shooting across the line. Sounds like you are putting up with a lot from them. They need some hard push back.

Don't put up with that crap And go back there and put that tree stand up

Put in the lease all hunting rights remain with owner. I think you misunderstood. They do not have a lease. They own the land next to us on two sides. Some friends of ours rent the field and the neighbors tried to tell them that we ok'ed this deal for them to take it over and farm it with their land. We did not. They have no rights to our land of any kind, hunting, farming or otherwise. But they are used to getting their way and were trying to trade land with our friends without our knowledge to get it. I will not let them have it just out of principle. I could sit fallow before I let them rent it.

Might have a attorney fire off a letter to them....That telling people they can't, or where they can hunt on your property is some serious entitlement.

If they had taken out your trees they would of found out the "real" value of trees in court of law. Likely millions of dollars to restore that.

I cut down and cleaned up a pine tree on the neighbors yesterday. I had permission though. Those red pins up root a lot and many are leaning my direction and the wind direction makes them all fall north east.
I need them down before I put a fence in. There are many more but I have not spoke with the neighbor about any other specific trees and wont touch them untill its clear. Its to muddy as i found out yesterday to get to involved in it now. Neighbor is a nice guy but his kids, wife, guests, and contractors have caused some small issues. I dont want to drop the cash to put the fence in but think the piece of mind will be worth it. And I believe he will split the cost if we can agree on the type of fencing. In Mo, If one landowner wants a fence, adjoining landowners must pay 1/2.

In Ohio and in many other states, neighbors can clear various widths along the property line, onto to the adjoining neighbor's property, to put in and maintain a fence. In Ohio the width is 10' with more being allowed if trees are likely to fall on the fence from farther away.
Your neighbors may be legally allowed to clear some of your land on the border if overhanging plant growth effects their ability to farm.
Keith Not in NY. You can go up to the property line, not an inch more. But thats not what they want anyway. They want to trade acreage with our current renters and assume use of the whole field. Jokes on them, the current renters don't have a long term lease. Its a year to year handshake deal. So they can't do it without our approval at all.

Neighbors should not be allowed to touch your property, or expect you to help pay for it just because they want a fence.
