Anyone use a cheap Pittsburgh? I gotta buy one. Some get expensive.

my brother even bough the digital tester and was darn close to spot on

you do HAVE TO BACK THE SETTING OFF while you store it , that does mess them up some.

so you use the cheap HF Pittsburg torque wrench to do your lug nuts at 140 back it off to 0 before you put it away.

I have a Pittsburgh torque wrench and an older
high end Craftsman. They both constantly read the same.

Top - 1/2" Snap-On
Middle - 3/8" Snap-On
Bottom - 3/8" Apco Mossberg ( very old ) inch pounds , for those rare times I need one.

I have the Craftsman for decades, probably forty years.

Craftsman is not the same tool it was 40 years ago. Have not been pleased with the results of my newer craftsman tools.

I have one just for torquing car/truck tires. Works fine.

I use cheap ones for lug nuts and such but when it comes to engine work I don't trust them.

I’ve always returned them to zero I was told it helps, that and the old style always returned to zero automatically and I still use them some and they’re still accurate, and are roughly 50 years old.

Even though I have some nice torque wrenches , a Harbor Freight one should be just fine. I bought good ones because I was making a living with them everyday. Harbor Freight has improved over the years to be able to call their torque wrenches accurate. I bought my Snap-On ones roughly 40 years ago. Harbor Freight made a lot of crap back then but are completely acceptable now.

Those two Snap-On ones I bought 40 years ago cost $550 for the pair. I cried a lot when I bought them. A lot. I still cry over what I paid for them now. I don't even want to know how much they sell for new now........

I found the 1/2 inch Harbor Freight Pittsburgh to be more accurate than the 3/8 or 1/4.

I'm thinking that might be a good idea. Adding a couple of Harbor Freight ones to my collection for mundane tasks like for lug nuts , would be a good idea and such would cut down useage/wear&tear on my good stuff.

Couple of Pittsburg at my in-laws shop for automatic work. Got an inch pound wrench in the gun room for stocks, rings, and bases.

Over last year I helped my son with a complete frame off restoration of a 72 Chevy Blazer. First time I have ever rebuilt axles or transfer case. Utube was our friend. Plenty of torque applications.
