The mandates have been lifted but manufactuers will be slow to adjust because thay know the next jerkwad liberal that gets elected is going to get the same BS reinstated.

Its not just the regulations its the chicken tax that drives the price to high.

Yall are comparing old 2 strokes to new 4 strokes.thats not a good comparison.look at the evenrude E techs before they stopped making them.the technology is there to be MORE fuel efficient end just as quet as a 4 stroke with alot better power to weight ratio.if regulations are laxed and 2 stroke outboards are become available again, hopefully the 4 stroke fad that helped to end them, will be over[/quote]

Nope, I’m not comparing old 2 strokes, actually had an e tech before I got a Yamaha 4 stroke. That’s actually what I’m comparing to. Not as quiet, not as good on fuel. I had 15 less hp, burnt more fuel, couldn’t hear my passenger.

I would love to get another Mitsubishi, the old D50 was an excellent trapping truck.

Eh...wot?

Foresure 4strokes have their place

But so do 2 strokes( shallow water jets )

Let the consumer decide,,, not the government

They don't understand outboards jets and how much weight matters and how much getting on step with a jet is different than a prop and how it needs to happen now, not 20 feet later when the water gets too shallow.

Yep,
Lake runners vs river runners.

I needed a new outboard last summer and had to settle for a heavy 4 stroke. First riffle I came to I noticed the difference between it and my old 2 stroke!
And it wasn't good

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

2 stroke dirt bikes are lighter, cheaper, and more fun in my opinion. 4 stroke outboards on small duck boats and john boats are too heavy and make them handle like crap, and way to heavy to deal with. Also my opinion. I have a 150 Honda on a pontoon and a 115 Yamaha on a lund Pro V and they are quiet and nice. But I am not taking them off and trying to carry them and the boats can handle the weight.
