You don't even want to know how much it costs here. (CT) If you saw the costs here , the mods would freak out on the &%€¥&?§ comments.

We have the 2nd highest electric costs here , I think Hawaii is higher. A lot of our heating systems (non full electric) are fuel oil , now being replaced with gas to cut costs. And we have a lot of 100% electric homes. However , we do not have a good NG grid and a lot of places can only access LPG , which costs more than NG. Heating costs are just nuts here. I would not doubt oil and gas suppliers gouge us because they know they have us over a barrel.

However , we do have one thing that works to our advantage. Lots of yuppies and cheap , good firewood they don't want to be bothered with. Easy to get oak , maple and other good woods for free or cheap if you put in the work of splitting & stacking.

Don't ever vote for anything fully electric only like some liberal areas are pushing for with 'green agendas'

The green part is giving away your green.

2,000.00 for a 2,100 square foot building. Had terrible cold, high winds, terrible frost upheavals since mid December unleveling the building, old drafty building, plumbing designed poor, needs lots of heat tapes. We live in the 900 square foot personage half of the building, the church is the other half. One of the costs of living in a bush village off of the road system.

Gas, 2 stroke mix, a few chains, gas in the truck and tractor a little electric to run the blower, water pump, and computer on the wood burner. But I suspect that cost is off set on not running the electric water heater when the wood burner is running.

The wood burner paid for itself after 4 years on what it saved me in lp. So at least 4 years of nearly free heat at this point. A few hundred a year. Except I did buy a new small chain saw a sthil 261 late year to have some smaller and lighter. Will be several years before its paid for itself. The more I use it the more I realize I like my old 361 better evening it is over 2 lbs more weight

How much is kerosene there ?

In my area , that ($50) would be less than 5 gallons.

You are a bit close to what I pay.........buuuuttt , that is just about what I pay for kilowatt hour for a month. Where they get you here is in the delivery charges. I can pay $500+ for kilowatt hours , but the delivery charges can exceed that easily here. One way to beat the regulators is to keep the kilowatt hours down but rape you on the delivery charges.

Been heating with wood since ’87. I burn a bit of LP in the spring/fall. I’m not sure where all of the $$$ went that I saved over the years. I’m sure my wife could tell me grin

My gas/electric combined was $204. Not a chance in the world it would be cheaper to burn wood.
