THANK YOU to everyone who provided some guidance on my posts and to others who share their knowledge + experience on this forum.
I have been working my trapline almost every day this Pennsylvania season, working as hard as I can to catch my first coyote.
Finally, with 3 days left in the season, I did it.

I scouted a field corner with a lot of canine tracks passing through.
With 18” of snow melting + rain, I prioritized hay sets.
I made a hay set in an hourglass shape with 2 traps, 1 on each side of the bottle neck.
In the center of the bottleneck, I placed a combination of deer scraps and chicken organs from meat birds that I raised last fall.
When I walked up on this coyote, it was like seeing a ghost.
So many times I’ve walked up on sets hoping to see one in a trap.
It took my brain a few seconds to register that I was finally seeing what I had worked so hard for.
Being able to share the moment with my daughter is a memory that I will never forget. She was so excited, and kept saying, “kiyee, kiyee”.

Way to stick with it and get the job done. And great you could share it with your daughter.

Great going. The first catch of any critter is always a great experience. Hope you made a remake.
