The best Government is one that does very little. In fact, I would be over-joyed if Congress spent their precious time going through "the books" scrapping irrelevant, outdated and onerous laws rather than adding new ones. What ever happened to, "I will demand that for every new law, 3 will be rescinded!"? And the very idea that tariffs were good for the country is a farce. It is an un-authorized tax on U.S. citizens and U.S. companies, period. "Maybe Sally only gets one doll." Who is Trump to decide how many dolls Sally gets?
I too voted for him in all 3 elections. Not because he was our only hope but because he was the best the republican party brought to the elections.
The first thing Trump should have done when SCOTUS struck down the tariffs was fire that bone-head Navarro. The second should have been to fire Hassett.

The tariffs, themselves,weren't deemed unconstitutional . Tariffs were essential to our economy from the start. The Act to justify them was applied in error.

The Supreme Court did not overrule tariffs, they merely overruled a particular use.

From what it sounds like, the tariffs stand, and the doors opened for more tariffs.

We just have to wait and see.

Exactly. No one is above scrutiny and criticism when deserved, especially politicians. Praise and support is also important when deserved. But blind alliance is never deserved or wise.

Americans do not have the patience for tariffs to work. We were told the economy was going to head straight into recession if tariff policies were enacted. It didn't happen. Capitalism is great, as long as there is a bit of nationalism involved. In other words not choosing profit to the detriment of the host country and it's citizenry. Instead the lust for profit, and the desire/necessity for cheap stuff, overrules any sense of nationalism in today's society and will likely cause the death of the Republic. The days of holding one job until retirement are about done, because China can build it cheaper. That's how this blue collar worker sees it.
