Well, that never happened and the whole world didn't get washed away either. North American natives have been here for thousands of years. Maybe that place got washed away and you had two animals from that region . . .but after 40 days of starving. . .the lion eats the lamb. There's something that's believable.

Was it the entire world that got washed clean or just the known world? I don't know, could be either, doesn't really matter. What matters is the point of the story. Back to aliens and kangaroos; the bible isn't a history book or a science book, altgough it contains some aspects of those subjects. It is about God's plan to have a relationship with man, man's rejection of God's plan, and God's design to restore the broken relationship with man. "My life is better than your vacation"
