Day 2 avg was higher according to sources.
Good! Let’s get them warmed up for FHA.

This year K. Falls is the same time as the first FHA sale. FHA has 3000 stale cats for their early one. Kind of a bummer since some important cat buyers will want to be in North Bay.
bearcat, which word don't I understand? And mind you I don't doubt you for a minute...thumbing through the dictionary there's skads of 'em. LOL
I heard that FHA plans to hold fresh cats over for their June sale. I wonder with the recent interest in the cat market if that is good strategy or if they might change that to take advantage of a hot market?

Slick pan - if you think George is going to sell that top lot cat by itself, you need to think again. That cat will go in the same lot as all his other select western cats and will sell for at least $1,000.00 less than he paid for it. But he will make up that loss on the other select cats in that lot that he paid $1200.00 to $1500.00 for.
George will buy 2000 to 3000 cats this season. A $2800.00 cat won’t affect his overall average one iota.
Go ahead and tell me I’m wrong. That’s fine. I stand by what I said. You and I have locked horns before. This won’t be the last time.
Have a good evening writing your rebuttal. I am not going to debate you the reasons why the cat brought what it did because this is a public forum and I will not expose the in and outs of how the cat market works. You said George bought the cat for his ego. I am saying that is not the case.

I am guessing he can write the price of the top lot cat off as advertisement. Every cat trapper in the NW know what he paid for that cat and some will ship or drive over to get more for theirs.

So Slick, you're saying that buyers don't like to go down on record of having bought the top cat on a hot cat market? That seems to go against human nature.
Not trying to debate you here....I'm sure you know more about the ins and outs of the cat market than do I.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Our trapping association puts on an amazing sale. There was a big lesson learned by a few trappers. At the bobcat sealing in Vegas, there was a buyer offering a $720 average on cats. Some sold to get away from paying commission (which make no sense to me since our association has stopped many attempts to ban or greatly restrict trapping), and some sold because it seems like a great deal. I told the guy I was going to Fallon but he still wanted to make an offer. He started at a $700 average and moved up to $775. I still declined. Ended up almost doubling that at the sale. Bottom line.......
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TRAPPING ASSOCIATIONS
If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TRAPPING ASSOCIATIONS Curious why did you attend the tagging with no intention of selling ? I agree that trappers should support their trapper associations if they care to but still you are free to choose what you wish to do.
