In my tacoma I've had auto braking beep at me a couple times. It might have applied the brakes once? If so, it was so long ago I don't remember. I thought it was too sensitive on beeping (before it brakes) so I set it to not trigger until the minimum distance. Since changing that its been quiet a few years I think. At this point, if interfers its probably a good thing.
The lane departure is way too sensitive IMO. I leave that off a lot of the time becuase if I'm not perfectly centered in the lane its beeping at me.

My 2018 Tundra has a Pre-collision Braking Control system and Adaptive Cruise Control. The Pre-collision system will apply the brakes as hard as needed to avoid a collision when the radar shows a crash is imminent. You can turn that system off on my truck. I keep it off, I can do my own braking.
The Adaptive Cruise Control will do the same thing, a buddy and I tested it. But it mostly uses braking to keep a set distance behind vehicles in front. I use that all the time. I love Cruise Control, especially now that it's adaptive. I used to hate having to brake or manually bump the speed up and down on the older non-adaptive systems.
Manually braking with the older systems disengaged them, it does with the newer systems too but you don't have to brake when cruising up behind a slower vehicle, the adaptive system does it for you without disengaging.
Eh...wot?

My truck has it and for the most part it works great. The only problem I have is when I drive in the Raleigh area. Gotta be the worst drivers in NC besides our Haitian population here in Wayne county. It brakes every time someone merges in front of me which is near constant in the Raleigh area.

All the new trucks do is beep, squeal and set the brakes. My frontier stops backing into tall grass it can be shut off but comes back on, and its a pain when backing a trailer in a narrow spot.
Never had it come on while driving normally except for the cruise control radar spacing coming up an another vehicle.

I’m always thinking I’ll not have it on some day going down the highway and need it. It can get you it trouble going into a lower speed limit then the traffic clears and your at the higher limit, been there done that.

Set that buggar for the lowest sensitivity and reclaim control....Lane departure is aggravating too.

how does it work in snow , say you are navigating by telephone poles , road sign poles and mail boxes. there isn't any real way to tell where the road is just keep it between the poles and out of the ditches.
I drove my aunts Subaru with lane detect , stupid thing doesn't understand WI roads . buzzing and beeping is just annoying
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

You can turn that lane garbage off the wife has a button on her Subaru. The breaking sensor won’t work in some icy conditions but it won’t impact the function of the vehicle, of course another warning light comes on to tell you that. LOL
Just count the amount of knobs, switches, apps and warning light that come on the newer vehicles it’s a bit overwhelming.
