A lot of ducks out there also must be waiting for the snow to the north to clear that’s what my neighbor thought.

There are about 20 trumpeter swans in the field across the road from my house. Been there most of the day. Pretty cool to see.

They fly over here in huge numbers sometimes, but I think I've only seen them on the water twice in my entire life, once at CJ Brown Reservoir and once on the Great Miami River.

There’s been 3 Canadian geese here since before the last snow but nothing else yet.

Honkers never leave 95% of the time in winters here. There are hundreds of thousands here now with the sky black in every direction when feeding times arrivers for for them.
Can be in the outdoors and here them just about time of the day. I have only seen a few times in all my years where I have seen snows here and in a small flock.

I’m sure they’ll be a few groups of snows around but we’re still ice fishing up here, the only open water around is the Missouri.. Seeing the first flocks is encouraging though.

A lot of ND got 5+ inches of snow today. I don't think you will see many snows until it melts off. It id 7 degrees here right now. So it is a slow melt.

They missed us on the way down but this is the second flight to land on the lake in a week not sure about the timing they show up when the show up or not at all. Last year the lake was covered with sick and dead geese this year I can’t find a sick one.

I keep track every year when I see the first geese up here at Lake of the Woods,March 17 to the 21st,first Sandhill cranes March 27th to the 30th.Very few snows,20 years ago they slid 120 miles to the west,I think our crop change pushed them west. When wheat and barley and blue grass was our top 3 crops we had plenty of fall snows coming through, soybeans and rye grass now has filled in what used to be small grains.Small grain use to be 55% to 65%,now it's probably down to 35%,however we are starting to get more corn now,so we might start getting a few more snows like we had in the 80's 90's and the early 2000's they sure are fun to hunt.

If they are healthy it’s a hoot seeing the numbers when they come through our area, when the are sick and dying it’s a pain there’s not a chicken owner that didn't lose their flocks in past years by the lake. The last 2 flights that ended up here were healthy it appears so I hope the worse is behind us now. I’d like to get some birds again.

A surprising amount of Canada geese have dropped in also they usually fly on by most years I thought for sure when the wind shifted out of the South the shoreline would of been covered with dead birds like last year that was a bad year.

Most of the rice fields around Houston are now subdivisions.

No food=no geese headed to those areas so don't see many geese or even hear them much frown

Miss seeing the migrating flocks in the fall
