Just to clarify for those not familiar with Oregon bobcats.

Bobcats - eastern. Are Eastern Oregon bobcats. Not eastern US

Bobcats - western. Are Western Oregon bobcats. Not western US

Bobcats - are bobcats from ANY state other than Oregon.

Do you know who MINERAL-2 is? I recognize the other buyers names.

Nancy, somewhere I have a business card for Mineral. I think his name is Lars from Dallas, Oregon area? Has a rabbit processing plant. Is fairly new to fur buying and is buying I think for Groenwald but don’t hold me to that. I’m away from home so I don’t have the info with me.

Interesting that I only saw 4-5 western cats on this sale. Used to be at least 50-60 not too many years back.

Those are prices definitely worth trapping for, for the most part. The coons, opossums, mink and coyotes around here aren't worth putting up at the prices they are going for. Local skunks are.

For those that know me, my numbers are on page 3. You can figure it out from there. Did get $53 for a badger, thought that was good.

looks like Western Montana Fur - ie. George Kortum was boosting his ego again at this sale, paying $87 for a western bobcat will certainly help I am sure.

I doubt that it sold for that. I saw sale averages for that sale and only 50% of western cats sold.

If Kortum was high bid at $87, all the other buyers thought it was worth less. Not all bobcats are worth big money.

Browned bellied southern kitten cats were bringing 80 bucks yesterday in Mississippi, lol. Don't ask me what they are doing with them as i have no clue!

Yeah, that's right. Nels, Lars....lol. I almost had it right. Knew he had a Berg in his last name but didn't want to hazard a guess. Willamina not far from Dallas...lol.

Looking at page 3 my guess is you were not too terribly disappointed. Good deal John!

I haven’t seen the report for this years sale. I did look at the OTC Facebook page and there is a post bragging about the bobcat prices in 2023.

Eastern Oregon bobcats - high of $1288.00. Sale average of $384.00!!!!

Trappers would be totally bummed with those prices this year. My how the market has changed.

What do you suppose will happen next season…………
