Has anyone noticed all the different scams modeled off animal rights propaganda?
Newer ones tearjerker about children in war torn countries.
There's only 4 that I donate to, Nationwide Children's Hospital ( I know it's legit ) St Judes , OSTA , and this site.
Not going to list any more, as the others are hit and miss.
Nationwide Children's Hospital , my nephew's daughter got a double lung transplant there, saved her life , abet , needs a new set of lungs at a 5 year average, praying she's going to be healthy enough to not need another.

I have so much fun with spam and scam calls. They usually ask for me by my full first name so I tell them to hold on while I go get him. Then I'll yell out, hay Matt, you have a phone call. Then I'll set the phone down and walk away.

I've noticed a lot of scams based on emails sending receipts for supposed purchases. I never open the linked "receipt" but check my credit card account to ensure there has not been a charge.

I get a lot of those also.

Also get a lot when we finally got rid of our land line. I tell the person to give me their home phone number and I call them tonight when they are off work. It usually works

When I get a call from a number I don’t recognize, I don’t answer it! They have one chance to leave a message. No message and the number gets blocked!

I will 2nd St. Judes. They treated my friend's daughter amazingly well. Zero expenses, even flew the family back and forth from Seattle to Tennesse frequently, free of charge.
BTW, my friend just showed up at the door in Tennesse with his daughter, and they took her in.

The scammers have moved into texting now too...Got one a while back where a person text me and asked my name....Said my number was in their contacts, but wanted my name.

Checked their area code, and it was from Washington D.C.....Nope!

They build up bits of info on you, don't help them solve the puzzle.

the 2 best attempted scams they tried on me that i can say was one saying they where the border patrol and they had stopped my package of 10 kilos of coccaine and they needed my address so they could said the police over i replied with well its on the pkg they where like this is serious i said i know at least it was 10 kilo pkg not the other 1000 kilos they replied sir we need your social security number to confirm who we are talking too by now i had them on speaker and the whole family was busting a gut laughing i finally hung up the other was a flower shop tried to put a $2000 dollar order through on credit card which i had only used at a lumber yard or buying trapping supplies the bank declined it and put a hold on it until they talked to me figured it out when there was a gas charge on it also i had used the wrong card at a gas station

For those on Medicare beware of callers claiming to be upgrading your paper Medicare card for a plastic one. Medicare does not issue plastic cards.

My elderly mother keeps getting letters in the mail from the Kansas Turnpike Authority. Telling her that she owes for using a toll road. She is nearly 80 and hasn't been through kansas in decades.

I got a call once wanting me to upgrade my telephone services. I told them I didn't have a phone. There was a pause and then they asked how I was talking to them. I said ever since the dentist put in this new filling I had been getting voices in my head and sometimes I get bored and talk back. So what did you want to talk about. Click.

Most from auto dilllers get blocked. other than that I do not say "Hello, or yes" if I do not know the caller ID. Most do not want to talk to Ron's Cable Shop may I help you.

I got a call from my CC company one time about a possible fraud charge.
Lady on the phone asked if I had been i Houston in the last week. I told her no. I was only in Houston once and never left the airport.

She tells me someone from that area had my numbers and so on and so forth. I said what ever they were buying it wasn't me.
I could tell by the way the lady kept stifling giggles that the charge must've been a good one.

After many rounds going back and forth I finally got out of her that someone had tried to "purchase" a lady of the night. I burst out laughing. I was in shock. I said I wish I had their contact info to set up a meet. I said I have a friend who's 6'9" and it would be great for this poor schmuck to walk in the room and be greeted by him.
