every drug on the market has side effects listed...some worse than others. Have to see how you react to it...
Tamsulosin (Flomax) commonly causes dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, runny/stuffy nose, and abnormal ejaculation (reduced or no semen/retrograde ejaculation). It may also cause fatigue, back pain, diarrhea, or drowsiness. Serious but rare side effects include fainting, painful, long-lasting erections (priapism), and allergic reactions.
Common Side Effects Ejaculation issues: Reduced semen volume or retrograde ejaculation (semen enters the bladder). Dizziness/Lightheadedness: Often occurs when standing up quickly (orthostatic hypotension). Cold-like symptoms: Runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, or cough. Headache and Fatigue: General weakness or tiredness.
Serious Side Effects (Seek Medical Attention) Priapism: A painful erection lasting 4 hours or more. Severe Dizziness/Fainting: Sudden drop in blood pressure. Allergic Reactions: Skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face/throat. Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS): A complication that can occur during cataract or glaucoma surgery.
Management and Precautions Rise Slowly: Stand up slowly to minimize dizziness or fainting. Timing: Take 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Surgery Warning: Inform your eye surgeon if you are taking or have taken Tamsulosin. Driving: Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

I know this is immature, but are we just going to ignore the long lasting erection side effect here?

I have taken it for a dozen years or more. The only side effect is that if you need your eyes dilated, it will be nearly impossible.
When I had cataract surgery, the doctor came into the prep room and asked me if I was on Flowmax. I asked him how he knew. He said that my eyes wouldn't dilate, and he would not be able to do my surgery with the laser. Then he said, "Don't worry, I've done thirty thousand the old way, and you will save $250 per eye because no royalty would be required for the laser equipment".
Yup, very true. One of the 1st things they’ll ask you before cataract surgery, have you “ever taken” Flowmax and it doesn’t matter if you’re no longer taking it!,
