So, I been trying to search a fireplace that would be installed in the home but has a fire box which is loaded from outside/garage etc. So wood doesn't have to be brought in the home.

Is there any fireplace on markets that has this function? I'm not looking for some boiler system or large heating system just a normal fireplace to take chill off not a year around heat source.

Theres fireplaces that open into 2 different adjoining rooms, so if that adjoining "room" happens to be outside, all you would need is a fireproofed "door" on the outside....I would imagine....

Though it might be simpler to just put in an outdoor access into a wood box to supply the fireplace.....

There are wood/coal fired furnaces that you could have out in the garage. Maybe just tie it into your existing duct work or something. Just make it a secondary heat source and run it when you wanted to.

Ive seen doors next to fire places where you load a "room" full of wood from the outside but beside the stove there is another door to get you into the other side of the "room"... so the wood doesn't come through the house just a dummy trap door next to the stove.

I built two houses with a wood storage bin, which had a door on the outside and a door on the inside (next to the fireplace). Good for keeping several days of dry wood. Also had a metal rod with a hook on one end to drag wood to the inside door. Downside was a lot of sand would accumulate in the wood box.

Good idea Snowy. Even though I look at each piece of firewood before I bring them in to my shop/trap shed, I still get those darn stink bugs flying around once the wood warms up. I know, don't bring in so much but I don't want to be making 7 trips a week out to the wood pile.

My friend made a fire wood dumb waiter…
Wood was loaded in a cube from his first floor garage , then simply push a button and wood would be lifted adjacent to his fireplace on 2nd floor
Worked really well

My cousin has one like.this. but he built a small building for it outside about 12 feet from his house and ran well insulated duct work to it. The wood burner heats air that is pushed through the duct work and into the house duct work.

It works well.

My outdoor unit heats water. Its 160 feet from the house. No smoke, no mess, no fire hazard and very little splitting with its 2'x2' door and 36" x 47" fire box. Heats our hot water as well. . But was expenses and is out primary heat source. What you said you are not interested in.

That is interesting!! I guess anything is possible even to build an outside delivery fire box. Thanks
