Love when a plan comes together mostly. Planned to set up decoys and target Redheads as they are a fun duck to photograph. They decoy so well, usually come in hard and committed in flocks with multiple birds. Only thing that wasn’t planned was the fog, makes for interesting backgrounds but cuts down the sharpness and color of the birds.
Shaping up to be a good late winter/spring.
Hope you enjoy.

One of my favorite ducks. We get just enough inland here that you can take a few every year or two. Only time I’ve ever seen flocks over 5 birds was further South into NC on the coast.

Again, great pics!

Nice photographs of gorgeous ducks.

One of my most prized mounts. From a hunt at Lake Mattamuskeet Many years ago. Had in put in a glass case and it looks just as good today as the day I picked it up from the taxidermist.

God bless you for the time and effort to capture those pictures. I've only shot two or three in my life, and all were in a rice field in California, but they are truly a beautiful bird.

And QuietButDeadly... that is a truly great mount.

Good luck to all,

Pete

Beautiful pics.... We rarely see them here, occasionally a few in fresh water ponds, but none on the bay...This is broadbill country...
