When I was kid eagles chicken hawks and owls were shot whenever opportunity presented itself

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I remember as one much younger driving around in the country side, It seemed that most farm yards had a real tall pole with a trap sitting on top of it.

When I was a kid there was a bounty on them.

Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination.

I like birds of prey. I've done a lot of falconry. There's too many birds of prey and their numbers need reduced. There needs to be a legal, controlled take of birds of prey. There also needs to be legal Animal Damage Control options for people having livestock killed by birds of prey.

Small game numbers would grow with less birds of prey taking them, especially when the game is young and more vulnerable. I watched a Cooper's Hawk take every newly hatched bobwhite quail chick, out of a hatch, over the course of an hour once.
