Just in time for the snow coming this weekend. Gotta love March!

Golfed yesterday afternoon. 72* and beautiful. Heard spring peepers, geese and muskrats swimming in the ponds, deer all over the course.

I was pruning apple trees yesterday, well on a beer break actually, and a skeeter bit me below the eye. 1st one of the year. Way early.

yup saw one yesterday.

we see them during fools spring often
I knew a veterinarian who gave 6 months heart guard to the person who brought in the first mosquito of the season for their dog.

it had to be taped to a note card with date and area found.

it was frequently March , he went to recommending everyone just keep up the heart guard 12 months a year

We haven't had any skeeters in south Georgia yet.

Maybe they're all up north.

It was 67 on Saturday here in Michigan. Went scouting on state land and had 3 ticks attached when I got home. This is the earliest I have ever seen ticks out. Might be a bad year for them.

I have seen a couple mosquitos also.

Don't worry Mike, the upcoming snow and below freezing temps will throw sand in their bearings for awhile.

No.....they come and go all year. When they're bad...they're very bad. Wetter springs with early warmth...look out!

We are currently in an extended drought in most of the South and when this occurs...skeeters are slow to hatch off, even in warm weather...due to lack of standing water in these woods down here.

i got ya beat. when we had that cold snap here back in january we had a cold snap and water lines froze in the house. I had some buckets outside. One had frozen to the top with ice so I brought it inside so it can melt and have something to flush with.

Couple days later after the ice melted...i had a mosquto in the house.

Found a tick on me last week too.

And this is why I enjoy late fall through late winter outdoors, much more. Dealing with biting insects is dumb…
