River trapping can be a pain, but this time of year mud pies/ scent/caster mounds work great.
There's a lot of beaver working up and down river as two year olds are looking for a new home.
Plus old roan beavers might be looking for a new mate.
Hate it when the river gets too high to check traps, and it takes as much as a week to go down.

With the sows fixing to drop their little ones soon, you can expect to be over run with 2 year olds for a good while.
Momma will bite the 2 year olds, leaving 5 inch gashes down to the rib cage in the armpit area if they don't leave the parental pond pronto.

Most all I’ve ever done apart from under ice! I trap tidewater with a four foot or more twice daily water level fluctuation!
