We use a commercial multi catch pigeon traps for our big jobs. Small domestic work we have smaller version bobbin type colony traps. The last ones we purchased years ago came from Wildlife Control Supplies. They can be broken down to transport them in a more compact size and assembled on site.

Pre-bait whole corn for up to a week, then introduce the trap with bobbins open. Keep feeding them. Once they are comfortable, set the bobbins to close. Keep water and at least one decoy bird in the trap. I like to switch out the decoy bird but it doesn't really matter. I've only used the smaller cages, next time I get a big roost I'll invest in the collapsible trap.

I do all my pre baiting in the cage. Always a big cage. If you can find a condensation line the drains onto the roof, set in that puddle.
Sometimes I will disconnect a line to create a water source. Water attracts better then feed imho, on summer days.
