70's all week this week .....records will be broken

We had a one week winter here. Been dry, not getting the rain we typically get. I expect it will be a hot brutal summer down here in Dixie.

No winter here in northeast Utah. One little dusting of snow that melted off in a couple hours. This is the only winter in my life where we didn't have to move any snow. We are in a horrible drought and will be in serious trouble if we don't get good timely rainfall this spring and summer.

I kept waiting for Winter in order to set out a few, never happened. Finally bit the bullet , put on the Snake chaps and got a couple out for a week and a half. What a Year to miss !!

We are having white outs here today, sparking travel advisories. We were in the upper seventies yesterday. It's been very windy since Friday. I had a truck bed liner show upon in one of my hayfields, from no apparent place, along with Styrofoam and a feed sack from a brand we don't buy. On Friday I saw any awning that ran the whole length of the hardware store, in the road, anchor bolts for the bricks attached still, 2 trees that crossed state highways, branches all over, 25 to 30 pieces of metal roofing, nearly a dozen trash cans, a 5 gallon water bottle and lots of miscellaneous trash in the roads.

I was looking for shear pins this morning at 07:00 because after 71 degrees last Monday , winter decided to come back and drop about 8 inches of snow with many drifts

I decided 1/4 inch cotter pins would do , and they did I did my place and the neighbors.

I’d call it an average winter for these days. Mild periods and rough weather periods. Not 70’s and 80’s type of winter that’s for sure. More ice between Thanksgiving and Xmas than we’ve had in a while.

It was a weird one up here. Had to plow several/seven times but the snow would melt down in between snow storms so never got to ride the snowmobile. We didn't get a lot of 20-30 below but now it seems like winter doesn't to give up. Was -6 this morning and supposed to be close to that tonight with more snow tomorrow. Every year is different but it sucks not being able to ride. Makes for a long winter.

No winter here to speak of. Took the hounds out this morning and couldn't get anywhere in the pickup where I've been driving all winter. Should have brought the snowmobile. Heavy wet snow the last couple days, that had turned to rain by this morning. Supposed to be in the 60s this week. I usually put 3-4000 miles a winter on a snowmachine hound hunting and trapping. I used it to run wolf traps in the high country this winter, but never used it once hunting. Other than the high country it was mostly bare ground this winter. Never plowed the driveway once, haven't went without plowing it since the winter of 04-05.
