Great video as always and the colony traps at the Beaver lodge makes me think of some locations here. Also, I just want to confirm my reservation for 2 weeks in early June at the cabin.......I will bring beer and fishing poles.

We knew there was rats in this pond but their push-ups from December were nowhere to be found. So we thought we’d hit the auxiliary lodge. Found a big hole into it through the bull rushes so we planted a 330 in the middle and blocked off the sides with colonys. That 330 was never snapped off, even with the rats around. I’m sure there’s another entrance to this little lodge.
We don’t do much fishing, but we might be setting up a little bear bait this spring. Something that’s easy access and close by. Might do a bit of late spring beaver and sit a few evenings. There’s so many bear around, we’ll shoot anything just to try and knock ‘em back a bit. I’ll use the ole BSA 458WM, haven’t killed anything with it yet and there’s a wild boar that we’ve been trying to get for a couple years.
Thanks for the video Shakey, unlike a lot of YouTube stuff, your videos are full of "real" trapping. The true excitement of seeing a couple of well earned rats in a set makes me smile. Well done!!
There’s lots of educational stuff out there. After all the conventions I’ve been to, there’s a million ways to “skin a cat” and real good trappers all do things a bit different. There others that can do training vids that are way better, I’m not too good once the cameras rolling.
