Was a great weekend in Saskatchewan followed by a night at the shack.

Two thumbs up…that chipper has some horsepower. I’m pretty sure I saw sparks at 3:26!

Great video as always and the colony traps at the Beaver lodge makes me think of some locations here. Also, I just want to confirm my reservation for 2 weeks in early June at the cabin.......I will bring beer and fishing poles. smile

I have nothing clever to put here.

Thanks for the video Shakey, unlike a lot of YouTube stuff, your videos are full of "real" trapping. The true excitement of seeing a couple of well earned rats in a set makes me smile. Well done!!

We knew there was rats in this pond but their push-ups from December were nowhere to be found. So we thought we’d hit the auxiliary lodge. Found a big hole into it through the bull rushes so we planted a 330 in the middle and blocked off the sides with colonys. That 330 was never snapped off, even with the rats around. I’m sure there’s another entrance to this little lodge.
We don’t do much fishing, but we might be setting up a little bear bait this spring. Something that’s easy access and close by. Might do a bit of late spring beaver and sit a few evenings. There’s so many bear around, we’ll shoot anything just to try and knock ‘em back a bit. I’ll use the ole BSA 458WM, haven’t killed anything with it yet and there’s a wild boar that we’ve been trying to get for a couple years.

There’s lots of educational stuff out there. After all the conventions I’ve been to, there’s a million ways to “skin a cat” and real good trappers all do things a bit different. There others that can do training vids that are way better, I’m not too good once the cameras rolling.

It gets a bit warm when Freezer stokes the stove for night and I' usually open the windows much to his shagrin.....lol. We rock the beaver slippers that were made from junk late spring beaver that weren't worth sending to auction as the shacks warming up.

We've got an old signal booster and there's just enough signal to stream, sometimes it's glitchy which we blame on kids surfing the net in the area on Saturday nights.....lol.
For the WIFI I use my cell phone as a hotspot cuz I've got an unlimited data plan. Maybe that's why it slows down, when I'm using too much data for the month?
For TV, I got a Fire Stick with one of the super cheap TV providers that's got everything under the sun to watch. There's so much stuff, sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for though. At about $12USD a month, it beats the heck out of satellite subscriptions. I think our old Shaw Direct was around $110 a month and that barely got us anything.

You are sitting a little too close there Buddy. Not judging, just saying. There are TWO sleeping bags in there right?

Hey! It’s a two man……..uhh, two person recliner love seat. We can fit 3 full grown men on that thing. Freezer (230lb), his son George (closer to 400lb and me at 190ish…..but the frame is bent now.

My old coworker bought a 6 person hot tub. One Friday after work I told the guy we should go to Bobs, he’s got a 6 man hot tub. He says “Person! It’s a 6 person hot tub. They will never ever be 6 full grown men in there”……… later that night, we proved him wrong.
