I had an uncle who was Irish. He always said, There are two kinds of people in the world: Irish and those who wish they were.
I'm Greek and always thought that about Greeks. laugh

Met my wife on this very day ...at a local watering hole...and

Green Beer ...1983... And she's full blown Irish...without the accent and red hair.

Nessy, a lot of my heritage goes back to Ireland also. My grandmother was a genealogist who traveled the world gathering such data , the Irish homeland included.

Two of my favorite photos...

Very nice Sharon !!

My wife's maiden name was Coffey...so that alone speaks volume..lol

And the guy that comes to my shop ..for Diagnostic reclabration...is straight

From Ireland...Accent and all !! His name is Cormac.

What a riot to listen to...and the EF word is just paaht of

Their vocabulary...he doesnt even know he's dropping

Ef bombs ..I love it.

We have some interesting conversations of life in Ireland vs here

In the states.

Too funny , Nessy ! I understand the Irish accent well. And just how difficult to understand , depending on the particular dialect of the area the person is from. Like here, there are different dialects depending on the area. Some are almost impossible to decipher.

My mother's maiden name was Shirley O'Donnell. She looked very much like Maureen O'Hara. A gorgeous lady.

What a fun time to be paaht of the conversation between yourself and Cormac !

Someday I want to find some Irish heather to keep in my cabin. The icon beautiful low growing flower that covers hill and dale of the motherlands.

I had classes with an Irish lass from Dublin. I remember one time saying something derogatory in nature about President Nixon. She was livid....and I would go to the fiery lands down under for the mere suggestion of impropriety by the wonderful man. At that point I figured out that "Nixon" is an Irish sur name.
