I’ve always wondered why the buyer is expected to take all the risk in a transaction. They are expected to pay first and trust item is as represented and will actually be shipped.

I bought something off eBay a few years ago and they sent a totally unrelated item. In a short snippy message the seller said they would issue a refund as soon as they received the item back. I said, “I went first last time and I have no product and am out the money too. How about you go first this time.” The seller actually said “never looked at it that way b4, I’ll issue refund, don’t bother sending product back”. lol

Yep, the last two hot checks I've gotten the bank called me at nine and ten days after deposit.

I'll tell you why. As a buyer, you can look at the sellers history, how long they've been a member, look at all their post ect and then decide if you want to make a purchase with them.

As a seller, you generally go with the first person to say "I'll take it". Now, that person could have signed up yesterday and have one post. You really expect the seller to just send merchandise to a total stranger? That is why you need to have your terms clearly posted from the start.

In any transaction anywhere, you send the money, and hope you get what you bought...try asking Amazon to ship you something before you pay,,,lol

As the buyer,
Preferred payment by PayPal f&f with my CC (rewards back)
Second by personal check
Least desirable by USPS money order, I really have to want the item to drive to the bank for cash, drive to the post office, pay them in cash, pay their fees, send it out certified or registered mail for tracking. If a Postal MO is lost ... 6 month wait on the refund. Way to much hassle!

No no, I agree that’s how it is. I wasn’t directing that just at the trap shed. Just a general observation.

I have had old boys call me to order a trap setter because they don’t do computers or credit cards. After talking to them a bit you can tell they are the real deal. I have told them more than once, “you put a check in the mail today or tomorrow and I’ll do the same with your setter. I’ve never had a problem.

That said, I wouldn’t do that on our website or for just anyone. Must have a soft spot for old trappers. LOL
