My kids school do this is 1st and 2nd grade. Have to create a trap with with using pulleys levers and what not. The last year my daughter did it I used a real trap and the teacher was not sure about it, had to show her I had it wres down where it would not actually set off and how a trap really worked she had a totally different idea in her head. She thought it take a finger or arm off.. so it was a good educational lesson to go with it. Me and kenni trap were big and we put all the simple machines to use, she always got an A and probably only school work I liked helping with.

Might have to use a conibear next time Big Sam! Or a coilspring, so you can make the pan tension heavier

Me and the wife was talking last night.. Next year the elf on the shelf is gonna get caught in the leprechaun trap..

We've set leprechaun traps with all the grand kids through the years.
Usually gold wrapped chocolate coins and airplane bottles of booze for bait.
