My kids school do this is 1st and 2nd grade. Have to create a trap with with using pulleys levers and what not. The last year my daughter did it I used a real trap and the teacher was not sure about it, had to show her I had it wres down where it would not actually set off and how a trap really worked she had a totally different idea in her head. She thought it take a finger or arm off.. so it was a good educational lesson to go with it. Me and kenni trap were big and we put all the simple machines to use, she always got an A and probably only school work I liked helping with.

We've set leprechaun traps with all the grand kids through the years.
Usually gold wrapped chocolate coins and airplane bottles of booze for bait.

My kids had one caught in a live trap but it managed to fit thru the wire. Must have been a pretty tight squeeze cause he tipped it over left a boot in the trap and leprechaun dust wast all over. The close call must have upset him a bit as it marked the snow bank in the drive way with leprechaun pee that said ‘Ha Ha Never Catch Me!’

Honestly, I’m glad it got out cause I don’t know where we would have kept it…the plan was in a pet porter but I just don’t see that as the long term solution.

Sixlets make great bunny poop and a little bottle of powder tapped on the floor makes great bunny tracks. wink

It definitely brings me joy that others are setting leprechaun lines. I'll read all your recommendations to the boys. Easter is coming, and I'm sure they'll be setting traps for him again.

Better to make snares for the Easter Bunny!

Do not trap the Leprechaun !

They are messengers , often bringing warnings of impending doom or attacks. Last time one was caught, he failed to deliver an important message warning of an imminent terrorist attack ! The terrorists succeeded and chaos ensued .

It's all right there in the 'South Park' episode of ' Imagination Land'. I was a witness to the destruction and death that was wrought. Not even Strawberry Shortcake and Ronald McDonald were spared. Raggedy Ann and Andy ? Ghastly demise.

Don't trap the Leprechaun.

I haven't seen that show in years, but somehow I remember that episode. Thanks for the reminder, sir.

Bob, the concern is them setting traps for the leprechaun without informing me. Mr. Trapset was kind enough to give my kids one of his fine bodygrip setters, so there's real potential for me to get pinched after a couple Grainbelts. Lol

We had a pull out here last year,,, caught him by his beard.he left some of it behind.
We used flavored marshmallows.
We unfortunately weren’t able to set for one this year..
