Friday I grabbed my Leatherman like I do a hundred times a day. I needed to straighten a single piece of 9 gauge steel on the corner of a piece of expanded metal. Just a single strand that got turned up. I needed to bend it back down to weld it to the ramp I’m building for my trailer. I had barely closed the plier jaws when one side snapped off. That leatherman wave plus has been on my hip since it came out in 2018. I lost my first and second ones both to belt sheaths that failed. Never broke one before.

I’ve probably reached unconsciously for it 50 times since Friday. It’s on the way to Leatherman for replacement but I may need to join a support group before the new one gets here. I’ve had a Leatherman on my hip since my stepson got me one for Christmas in 1993. That one is somewhere on the banks of the South Fork Koyokuk River in Alaska. Victim of a failed sheath strap.

I'm sorry for your loss...

I'd be lost without my Leatherman Wave+. For some reason, I bought 3 of them about 3 years ago. Two in stainless, one in black.

I have a Leatherman Wave on my belt every day. I'd also be lost without it.

I own 3 of them, a work pair, a general use pair and a spare.
They all should be shipped in for repairs/replacement at this point.

I am fully restored. My repaired leatherman is home and back on my hip.

The Wave is my favorite work tool on my belt every day along with a signature series folding buck knife with my name engraved on it. I cant remember how many years I have had my leatherman. I have worn out a few and about due for another one in short order.

Perfect excuse to buy a new one! I “lost” my Wave and found it the next day, but by that time I ordered this. The customization is actually pretty cheap!
