I think we had 19 tables Tommy. Some of those were walk ins. Some new trappers there. Most had lots of fur, so they were out working hard. I think some were trapping just one animal. I saw one table with 4 cats and nothing else, but they sold very well and he left happy. I was well pleased with the price paid for most fur. Of course, the coon and beaver are still in the tank and will be I guess as long as Russia is at war. Heck load up that old truck next year Tommy and bring it on over. Plenty of good food and it will be good to see you again.

Was that $50 coyote from TN?
Maybe from Britain, or British money. They spell the fox over there with an E, instead of of the American way, which is GRAY.

Probably one of the black ones that the taxidermist's bid on if any of them are there looking for them. the white otter that sold for $300.00 was a case in point. We normally have one or two black coyotes there every sale. There were some real good coyotes that brought in the $20's that looked awfully good for Tennessee coyotes, but I didn't have a chance to ask where they came from.

Must of been some crafter's there buying as well. The $55.00 red fox came from Penn. Jackie, but I had a $50.00 red that I caught here at home in Wilson County. There were some awful good greys' caught by the same guy so the best and biggest probably came from Penn. too although I did not ask about the greys. Saw some real nice coyotes by another trapper that looked like they may have been imported as they sure were a lot better than any that I caught.

LCD , do you know who the buyers were ? Didn't know all of them Tommy. Most were new folks that I had never seen before, but John Daniel, Kelly Mills, and Jeff Gareri were the regular buyers. There were just six buyers there. We need to have a lot more tables at the sale to draw in more buyers. It costs a lot of money for a buyer to travel a long way and not be able to buy enough fur to pay for the trip. Sure, would be nice to have a sale that lasts way into the night like it used to do.

I took a black coyote to the tfha auction at bulls gap in 1983.. iirc.. must have been the first black one anyone had ever seen.. red edgemond brought everyone at the sale over to look at it.. lol Sure, do miss Mr. Red. It was a pleasure to watch him sale fur as no buyer could fool him as he knew the value of each fur. And he would work hard to get as much money as he could for the fur of a new trapper as he did an old veteran.
