Does no one ever catch these anymore? Never see them on fur sales, etc. Hadn't thought of them till my niece who is vacationing in Mexico sent me a video a second ago of a Mundi walking around on their patio looking for food.

Good point….. I was wondering this myself. Although they don’t live in my neighborhood … I’ve always thought about buying one for a taxidermy project

They was a good population of ringtails in central TX when I trapped there. I never set specifically for them though. All mine were caught in sets for greys, cats and coyotes. Pretty neat little critter. though. And full of fight when you approach them in a trap. If I trapped there again, I would target them with boxes and 160 traps. They bring decent money on some auctions and taxidermy trade.

I picked one up, (road kill), when I was in Arizona about 25 years ago. Skinned it out and sent it off to Moyles. I still have that wall hanger today. There was 8 or 10 at the Klamath Falls sale Friday. Not sure what they sold for, but you can find it on the thread posted on here somewhere for the Oregon trapping sale results.
Just doing what I want now.

I guess all of those things moved to Mexico! I don't know anything about them, i imagine they are aggressive like a coon?????????????????

J, saw a coati in Mexico a few years back...cool looking critter coon face foxy tail. It was garbage can hunting and had its head all the way in the can. I lip squeaked and it popped right out. We walked towards it and it climbed tree and looked down. Cool sight.

There was a disease of some kind came thru central Texas in the late 70's-early 80's that wiped out our ring tail cat population and it has never fecovered
