Caught my first beaver this year. Pulled all my traps today. Butchered it & froze all the meat to create my own bait. Took the carcass out & put a camera on it. Have 100% confirmed we do in fact have coyotes in the area. In one week I have a large & smallfisher, lots of coon, red fox & coyote. Tied some stuff to a tree & am using different lures as a “testing” period. Would love to see a bobcat. However, from January to end of February I made several weasels boxes & talked weasels with a bunch of you guys on here. A rule I’ve learned here recently has been “subtle sets, specific locations.” However after putting my boxes in the most weasel-y locations, I had no luck. Caught a lot of mice & voles, no weasels. Now I caught these eyes on my camera, dark & early morning. That tail tells me it is not a squirrel nor would I expect one to eat beaver this time of year. I’ll post fisher & day pictures for size reference. I may be in delusion via hopes, but I believe that may be a weasel. Let me know your thoughts friends. If it’s not a weasel or squirrel. I do not know what else it could be. [Linked Image]

I'd have to say flying squirrel also. I know they eat mice. I have a huge oak tree right by my shop that has a bunch of them living in it. A few of the mice I catch in my shop I've placed in a small open feeder that's on that tree and have seen them eating on them. They are fast critters.
