Got the ironwood (hop hornbeam) logs I cut a couple weeks ago all reduced to staves today. Peeled the bark, applied shellac to the outside (back, the bark side) and the ends. Then I kerf cut the logs and split the staves following the saw cuts. Kerf cutting really cuts down on waste from splitting. In all I ended up with a decent pile of staves.

You ever make any straight from green stock to tillered bow? Works a lot easier green. Let dry about a month and retiller.
