When I bought my hunting license last fall I bought my federal waterfowl at the same time. It was just a line they added to the license that showed I’d payed for the “duck stamp”. They told me the physical stamp would be mailed to me. I honestly forgot all about it. Our 25-26 season has been over for quite a while. Guess what showed up today. Yup. My 25-26 duck stamp.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

Federal or state stamp? We have to have the physical federal stamp here and have to sign our name across the front in order to be legal to hunt.

You have a nice collectible now Randy. If you'd got it in a timely manner you'd have stuck it on your license and wrote on it.

Got mine today also! Still better than having to go to the post office to get them like it used to be.

Last year, 24/25, I had to go to three post offices before I found one that had them.

I buy mine at the post office.
We are now allowed to just show the electronic version, don’t need to have the actual stamp on us anymore.
Nice thing is we don’t have to sign, increases the collector value down the road.

They just changed it here. Before you could buy it electronically like all the other licenses but it was only valid for 45 days then you had to put the stamp on your electronic license when it came in the mail and sign across the face of the actual stamp. I know a guy who got in trouble for not doing this twice and he lost hunting privileges for 3 years. Dumb they know you bought the license. So I guess stamps in March is better than that. And also great for people who collect them.

Sounds like most of you aren't familiar with the 2023 Duck Stamp Modernization Act.

Basically if you buy the federal stamp online or through your state gane agency, you get a digital stamp that you can use to hunt for the duration of the season. Then after March 10, they mail out the physical stamps en masse.

You can still get a physical stamp at the post office, though I don't know how long that will still be the case. Woth the physical stamp you need to carry it and have it signed. The digital stamps are tied to your license record so there is no way to "share" them like an unsigned physical stamp.
