Peg is pretty good at making a really old ladies voice and acting like she’s very hard of hearing.

Had a guy call trying to sell life insurance. I asked if it was just for me or could I get some on my wife too? He said “sure, we can write your wife”. I said, “ this is your lucky day, I’ll take all you can write on my wife, you just need to date the policy yesterday cuz she died this morning.”

He actually laughed and said he’d never had that one before. lol

The more you engage the more calls you will get. Seen this with a friend of mine that liked to play with them. His phone never stopped ringing.

Answer, "National Spam and Fraud Prevention Bureau. Calls from this number have previously been reported as spam and/or fraud. Please state your full name, date of birth date, job title and physical business address for the legal record."

Used to give the phone to my children when they were real little. Now I just don't answer calls from numbers I don't know.

I've found that nothing annoys them more than the sports horn I keep by the phone,ANY crap calls get a blast, and I've actualloy had them call right back several times, just to get a 2nd, 3rd or more dose! LOL

If you're not in my "phone book" it don't get answered, they can leave a message....they never do, lol

Why do telemarketing companies hire call center employees who do not speak English? I just hang up on foreign callers.

Problem is that they leave a voice mail of nothing, but it puts your voice mail over limit.
So you don't get messages you need.,

What I don't understand is the phone companies can label them as spam, but can't trace them.
How can they use , say, your personal number to call you with their scam?

Simple, phone company's know who the SPAMMERS are to label them as SPAM.
It costs SPAMMERS little to have a call-bot dial numbers all day long.

SPAMMERS DON'T know who YOU are when they call. It's just a call bot dialing numbers.

They dial 100 numbers, 99 will hang up or reject their BS..........
It's that `100th person that will listen to them and perhaps they can exploit them.............

Cause it's cheap. Capitalism at work! In this day of instantaneous satellite communication, Philippine operators can be hired at a fraction of the cost of what American operators can be hired at.

Lot's of call centers hire Indian (dot not feather) operators for cheap also. The ones I've talked to have better spoken English than I do. Very articulate.

Search for a cheaper car insurance , and see what happens.

Tell them you need to get your hearing aid or glasses. Set phone down and let them waste 10 minutes before hanging up.

Always annoying to me. I get calls from medical crap meds and such for MS. Its expensive and they call a few times a month to set up shipping and be sure someone will be home. I have bad hearing and trouble with accents. Its very frustrating finally got everything set so they call my wife.

Calling tech support for the computer typically get someone in India. I cant understand them either and we both generally end up frustrated.

Its not that they dont speak English they just do so with an accent. I know they're English it better than my any other language I dont speak.

When in the line with tec support I asked for a supervisor. Got the same accent no suprise. So I asked if they had anyone there that spoke American preferable male with a slight southern dialect. Im sure your English is outstanding but in have trouble with the tone and accent. I have trouble even more with female voices due to typically being higher pitched and that is the range my hearing loss is the worst.


I messed with a few telemarketers pretty hard for over 30 minutes each over the years. One was trying to sell me a rid x type product. Keep cutting me off so I put my phone on speaker and made lunch. When he realized I was not responding I asked a few questions back and forth a good bit on that. Then my wife came home and I told him that and asked if he would mind running through it again so she could hear it. She just looked at me rolled her eyes and went along knowing what I was doing. She played the question game when he finished.

Finally he said how great it will be for my field bed. Thats when I said field bed I dont have one of those. He said you sid you had a septic? I do but only a tank no field bed the pipe just goes out of the tank into the ditch(he was shocked but believed it.) . You could here the frustration and deflation in the guys voice .


Another was selling car insurance and I was driving from the farm to my other house so had time to kill on the road. Let the guy talk up up the product after he cut me off. Let him go as long as i could played dumb like i didnt understand how insurance workes and eventually said insurance sound great and I would like to have some do you insure horse and buggy. Fellow was confused I told him im Amish and dont own a car but my horse and buggy were important to me and I would like his product to cover then as he explained it works on cars.
He said they dont cover that then I really got him stuttering when I asked if he was discriminating against me due to my religion not offering insurance for my mode of transportation. Poor guy was sure flustered tripping over himself trying to be politically correct. Wife was feeling bad for the guy the kids thought it was funny. At least they got their dad's since of humor.

I was called last evening on a political survey. I identified as Black - Woman - transitioning - Muslim - Moderate, with my major issue 2nd amendment rights. I was asked if I would be interested in talking to a reporter at the end. LOL
