Yes, I have a couple suits, bunch of jackets. If someone doesn’t have one, go to Goodwill. There’ll be a bunch of them there, cheap. I can't wait to give mine away in 4 or 5 years when I hang it up. I will keep one for special occasions.

At my last "job" I was a project manager for a company that did contracting for the government. Depending on what was on the schedule I wore either a suit or, a coat and tie. One day I came into the office and sat down at my desk, the youngest of our office girls walked in with a couple of files I had to review, and one of my site managers walked in behind her, as he had something he needed my input on. This young lady dressed for success. Her office attire was impeccable, as was her manners and work ethic. She complimented my coat and said she liked the cut of it as it didn't profile my G19. My site manager had on tactical pants, a polo shirt, boots and a plate carrier. He said he was glad he didn't have to own such nonsense. That young lady looked him dead in the eye and said, "If you don't own a coat, how do you take a lady out to dinner?" She as dead serious.
I don't own a suit anymore, but I do own several well tailored coats and sports coats. Dinner at a nice restaurant in New Orleans, promoting trapping at one of the various conservation organization dinners, trying to get donations for a local veterans organization...A nice coat and tie will do you better than coming in there looking like you just got down running a line on a crawfish farm.

It shows respect....You wear it for the Lord, and funerals, weddings, etc.
Looking at old pictures of this country when suits were the norm, was such a classier time.....We're so dumbed down, and dressed down now it's disheartening.

On the flip side God does not care if im wearing rags, jeans, slacks or a custom tailored suit. Its those judgmental Christians that are looking down their nose and making judgmental assumptions based on worldly ideas. Some people like fancy shiny things, name brands and status symbols. For others none of that is important. I suspect one group is generally much happier and content in their life. Honestly your correct in how folks regard in their appearance. Walk in a Walmart and at how people are dressed. Some in their pajamas. People use to never go out of the house without making an effort to be presentable.

I was planning to wear a suit tbis morning, sans the tie, it would have been the second time in my life that I did. However, I had a very strange dream three days ago that convinced me not to. Happy I took the advice.

That's the way I feel about it. My mama could be downright cruel if she thought her boys were about to walk out door looking less than respectable. Sweat pants and tight fitting britches drew some really hurtful commentary from her, lol. I was taught to dress with some self respect your put your best foot forward and that folks will judge you by how you present yourself, not just how you dress but how you speak and behave.

Nice jeans, a nice shirt and boots are fine in my book. I'll throw a sport coat on for Holy Days.
Our Easter Vigil was almost 4 hours long. A lot of it kneeling. That's a long time in a suit and tie.
But yes, there are times to wear a suit. 4 hours? Time to find a different church. Lol Catholic Mass last night was almost 4 hours here. Maybe you need to quit cutting corners.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I have fourteen. Just got rid of about a dozen when we moved to this new place a year ago so now down to about fourteen. I love wearing suits. Italian made are my favorites. Get a good tailer to get them custom fit too. Jim A peek into my closet for you… ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/04/full-34529-290264-img_0444.jpeg)
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Good on you, Warrior. When you decide to dress well to go somewhere, you should hold your head up high and feel good about it. We have less occasions for formal or even decent dress, but when an occasion arises, it's nice see Zim in a suit. He has several and he makes them look good.
