I have bought lacrosse trappers twice now. Looking for a better quality for 200 bucks.

Not sure what they cost, but my set of Ranger hip boots have impressed the heck out of me. I can’t kill em. I store them terribly, treat them even worse when in use. Had them 5 years or so and not had to patch.

Your post reminds me to look for another pair so I have them if these ever fail. [Linked Image]

Took your advice yotetrapper30… they came in the mail today. Seem to be great quality and extremely light. Thank you.

I think you will like them. They are an exact copy of the Wick hip boots that everyone used to love so much that were discontinued.

How are those to patch after a barb wire rip? Looks like the nylon material would be hard to repair.

Could be repaired with Gear Aid and a patch.

I have not had to patch the Stone Creek ones yet, despite crossing numerous barb wire fences. Going back many years to when I had Wick's, I believe I just patched the nylon material with Goop like any other hippers.

How are those for standing in water for long periods, yote? If I recall correctly, John Wick used to claim his froglegs were for crossing water going to the dogs, not for standing in water for long periods. Thought he said they would weep water into them if you were standing around in water for fifteen minutes or longer.

Well Bearcat, I don't know, as I don't usually stand around in the water, lol. On the rare occasions I do for fishing or something I usually wear waders. Or most often just shorts and flip flops LOL. I wear my hip boots for coon hunting, (when I had a dog) and trapping... where usually all I am doing is crossing cricks or making beaver or otter sets. So, I'm usually in the water for less than 5 minutes at a time. I've never stood in the water long enough that they leaked, but I couldn't guarantee they wouldn't if you stood there long enough.....

I have a pair of Stone Creeks with the Dry Shod boots. I was setting beaver traps in a thick creek a few weeks ago. It was easier to walk the creek than it was to walk the banks. I was in the water for an hour or so and didn't notice any leaks

They need to figure out how to make them with air condition

Gotta live up to the nickname...
